HOW TO ZOOM

We know that Zoom can be a bit confusing to understand, so have made this page to hopefully assist with the many zoom issues that may arise.  If you have any problems in setting up or using zoom that cannot be solved from what we’ve got on this page, feel free to drop us an email at igpproducers@gmail.com

Accessing Zoom:
You do not need to have the Zoom app downloaded to access Zoom and watch the events in the festival, however Zoom does function much more streamlined when run through its app.  You also  do not need an account to join Zoom meetings, so don’t worry about setting one up if you do not have one.
On the day of the event you have booked a ticket for you will be sent an email with the Zoom link in, all you need to do to access the event is click the link – simple! If you have the Zoom app downloaded this will then create a pop up box which says “Do you want to allow this page to open Zoom?” to which you should click allow, and then your Zoom app will take over and take you to the waiting room.  If you do not have the app, this will open up a window in your internet browser where you will see the option to ‘Join from your browser’, you should click this and will then be taken to the waiting room.
If for some reason the link in the email isn’t working for you, you will also receive a Meeting ID, which can be used to access the performance as well.  To use this open the Zoom app or search Zoom online and access the website, and then click ‘Join a Meeting’.  Then you just need to type the Meeting ID in to the box that says ‘Meeting ID or Personal Link Name’.
Zoom is free to download and it is free to create a Basic account.  If you want to download Zoom prior to the event, go to the Zoom website and the Download page, which can be found from scrolling to the bottom of the Zoom website and clicking ‘Download’.  This will take you to a page with a range of options, but you need to click Download under the ‘Zoom Client for Meetings’ option.  This will then start the download to your PC device.  A box may appear that says “Allow this application to make changes to your device”, which you must allow for Zoom to work.
You can also download Zoom onto your mobile device from going to your App Store or Google Play store and searching for Zoom.
You do not need to pay for Zoom to access these events, even the ones for over 40mins.  A Basic Zoom account is free and allows you as a host to create an event for a maximum of 40mins, however having a Basic account will not impact how long you can access the streamed events for. So do not worry about buying an upgrade to access the events which are longer than 40 mins, as we have that covered on our end and you will be able to access events of all lengths free of charge!
